mac software

Message 02 février 2015, 21:03

Family Search (PAF) software has eliminated their support function. At the same time that I change to a new software I would like to move my tree to my iMac computer. Does anyone have a recommendation for the best software? Family Search recommends three: Ancestral Quest, Legacy Family Tree and RootsMagic. https://familysearch.org/paf
Is there any limitation on the amount of data that can be transferred? GED-COM appears to be the only real mode of transferring, yes?

Ancestral Quest, Legacy Family Tree and RootsMagic are not Mac softwares.

I suggest http://www.syniumsoftware.com/macfamilytree/

I have been using RootsMagic with a bridge program for the Mac that they have provided. After using it for a few months now it has worked very well. I imported my original PAF file to the RootsMagic and it took all the backup data and the JPEG's as well, which surprised me. The followup and assistance has been excellent. Needless to say the Mac is very user friendly as well.

Sincerely,
