- (Ang. Saxon) Wellere, a hollow or gulf. Probably the same as Waller (which see).
- A traveler, foreigner, or pilgrim, the same as Waller, from the Saxon wealh, a traveler, or one who inhabits the forest or grounds uncultivated.
