The Romans, Vikings and Normans may have ruled or invaded the British for hundreds of years, but they left barely a trace on our DNA, the first detailed study of the genetics of British people has revealed.
The analysis shows that the Anglo-Saxons were the only conquering force, around 400-500 AD, to substantially alter the country’s genetic makeup, with most white British people now owing almost 30% of their DNA to the ancestors of modern-day Germans.

I am very interested in DNA study. My ancestors are from England and Normandy. I am a direct blood line to the Normans of 1066. Blessed Margaret Pole is my 8th Great grandmother. Her Granddaughter Hannah Stafford married a Luke Bromley and they came to America in the 1600’s My mothers maiden name is Bromley also and I have done DNA testing to find and prove my blood line. Has any of your studies looked into English Americans? I have test through ftDNA and the National Geno Project 2.0, 23 & Me. Do you plan on comparing the DNA Genetics of people from England and America.
