The National Archives (UK) is Awarded Carbon Trust Standard

In advance of the deadline set by Prime Minister David Cameron to cut government carbon emissions by at least 10% in the next 12 months, The National Archives has received the Carbon Trust Standard for reducing energy consumption consistently over the last three years, including a 10% carbon reduction in 2009/10.

Lee Oliver, Acting Head of Estates and Facilities said: ‘Achieving the Carbon Trust Standard is recognition for all of the work that we’ve done internally to reduce our carbon emissions. This certification shows that we are committed to managing our energy consumption more efficiently and are working to protect the environment, as well as the UK’s public records.’
