A New Home Page for Your Geneanet Archival Documents and Pictures

As promised, some new, simple and effective services now come with the new version of Geneanet to help you grow your family tree.

On Geneanet, you can upload family pictures, archival records, indexes, pictures of headstones and memorials, family letters, postcards, coats of arms, and much more.

A new page is now available to view, edit and add all of your archival documents and pictures.

Click 'Family Tree > Your Archive & Pictures' in the top menu bar of the site, or simply click the following link:

Genealogy: 2 Billion Individuals on Geneanet

We are happy to announce that we have reached the milestone of 2 billion indexed individuals on Geneanet!

It took almost 16 years to reach the milestone of one billion individuals, and only 2 years to index one billion more individuals.

This is a new step: Geneanet becomes more and more useful and efficient for your genealogy research.

The GeneaNet 'Individual Matches' allows you to automatically search the GeneaNet database for individuals which may match your ancestors.

This powerful feature is reserved for GeneaNet Club Privilege members.

Other GeneaNet members can search for 'Individual Matches' in the Archival Records and Indexes but not in the collaborative family trees.

GenealogyInTime Magazine has released the 2015 list of the Top 100 Genealogy Websites from around the world. The list is the end product of an extensive and exhaustive evaluation of thousands of genealogy websites. It is the most comprehensive list available on the genealogy industry.

Geneanet ranks #6 (Geneanet was ranked #7 last year).

And Geneanet ranks #3 in the Top 10 Free Genealogy Websites of 2015.

GenealogyInTime Magazine says: "Geneanet moved up one position to number 6. It is the top French genealogy website and it specializes in family trees. The Ring of Remembrance: The Names of 579,606 Soldiers Who Lost Their Lives During World War I

The Ring of Remembrance has been inaugurated by French president François Hollande on November 11, 2014 to pay tribute to those who died in northern France during World War I. The names of 579,606 soldiers are presented without any reference to nationality.

Geneanet offers to find your ancestors: the 500 sheets of bronzed stainless steel have been photographed and all the names have been indexed.
